Lensbaby 3G Nikon F Mount SLR Camera Lens LB3GN

December 7, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

The Lensbaby 3G lens is a workhorse for photographers who require precise focusing, complete control, longer exposures, and repeatability. When working with dynamic subject matter you can focus Lensbaby 3G just like Lensbaby 2.0 – by compressing and bending. For slower moving or static subject matter, you can lock the lens in place simply by pressing a button on the focusing collar. Then you can fine focus using a traditional barrel focusing ring and fine tune the tilt to place the sweet spot exactly where you want.Lensbaby 3G features the same low dispersion, high refractive index, multi-coated optical glass doublet as Lensbaby 2.0, and delivers images with a tack sharp sweet spot with minimal diffusion even at the f/2 aperture setting. Lensbaby 3G uses the same system of magnetically levitating aperture disks as Lensbaby 2.0 with aperture settings of f/2, f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16, and f/22.

1 Star It focuses, but doesn’t shoot!
Waste of my time, I just got this item and hooked it up to my Canon EOS 30D. The button focuses, but does not shoot. I pressed down really hard and nothing happened.

It is designed to hold the button down when using the BULB shutter (long exposures) but it’s all useless if your can’t fire the shutter!

This is going back to where it came from!

1 Star This item doe not do its job.
This device is not particularly nice, and it does not work well. It feels cheap in your hand, and the switch does not have a positive “click” letting you know that you have pressed the button. Also, it worked fine when it was new, and now almost does not work at all. I’d say I get a shutter exposure perhaps 1 of every 10 times I press the button.

Do yourself a favor and spend an extra $20 for a better alternative. You can go without 3 trips to starbucks to offset the cost.

4 Stars Works like it should, costs like it should
Works very well and it’s very helpful in many situations.

The price is what it should be for this kind of accessory.

Good buy

1 Star You get what you pay for
I had my camera equipment stolen and read the reviews on the less expensive Opteka cable release and decided to save a few bucks on the replacement. I have now had 2 and they both have failed within the 1st ten shots. Extremely frustrating when you’re in the field and cant’t get the shots you have meticulously set up for the right moment. I am going back to the Canon version which worked perfectly for years. Remember, you get what you pay for.

5 Stars Worth every penny
I got this remote when I needed a remote for my 20D. As some have mentioned, it’s not the highest quality thing in the world, but it certainly gets the job done. I only wish the cord were longer, though as is it’s certainly workable.

Canon RS 80N3 Remote Switch for EOS 1V 1VHS EOS 3 EOS D2000 D30 D60 1D 1Ds EOS 1D Mark II 10D 20D

A compact remote switch with a 2.6 feet (80 centimeter) cable to prevent camera shake for super telephoto shots, macro photography and bulb exposures. Handy for taking pictures of subjects that are difficult to approach or to minimize vibration for close-ups and time exposure. The remote switch works just like a shutter button, enabling halfway or complete pressing. It also has a shutter-release lock. With the EOS-3’s Custom Function No. 12 (mirror lockup), camera shake can be further reduced. Its quick-lock plug connects to the new N-3 type remote control socket. Dimensions – 5.3 x 2.2 x 0.9 inches Weight – 8 ounces

Samsung GX-20

September 11, 2008 by Digital Slr Camera Review · Leave a Comment

Samsung GX-20 review Review This top-end digital SLR is not for beginners, that much is for sure. It’s solid and produces accurate exposures with deeply colourful pictures, but there’s also a crude side to its design. And, since it’s essentially the same camera as the Pentax K20D, it’s worth a scrutinising look, even if the price is right
