Sigma AF 18 200mm f 3 5 6 3 DC OS Optical Stabilizer Zoom Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras

The Sigma 18-200 F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM Lens incorporates an Optical Stabilizer function and is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras. It is perfectly suitable for low light conditions whether indoors, at dusk, or in telephoto range. This system uses two sensors inside the lens to detect vertical and horizontal movement of the camera by moving an optical image stabilizing lens group, to effectively compensate for camera shake. It also automatically detects panning movement of the camera and compensates for camera shake when shooting moving subjects such as motor sports. SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass and aspherical glass provide excellent correction for all types of aberrations. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7″) throughout the entire zoom range and has a maximum magnification of 1:3.9. Since the inner focusing system means the front of the lens does not rotate, optional circular polarizing filters and the supplied petal-type hood can easily be used. A magnification scale is displayed on the lens barrel, ensuring ease of use. A zoom-lock switch mechanism is provided to prevent the lens from creeping due to its own weight. 69.3 – 7.1 degrees (Sigma SD format) angle of view 7 Diaphragm Blades F22 Minimum Aperture 45cm / 17.7 Minimum Focusing Distance 1 – 3.9 Maximum Magnification Petal Lens Hood Dimensions – Diameter 79mm x Length 100mm Weight – 21.5 ounces (610 grams)

Tokina AT XAF124DXN 12 24mm Wide Angle Lens for Nikon

Tokina AT XAF124DXN 12 24mm Wide Angle Lens for Nikon

The Tokina AT-X 124 AF PRO DX lens is Tokina’s first lens designed with an APS-C sized sensor. This lens gives the Digital Photographer an ultra wide-angle zoom lens that has the equivalent of an 18-36mm zoom range on a 35mm film camera while maintaining a bright constant aperture of f/4. Non-rotating 77mm filter threads mean special effect filters will not change when the lens’ focus is changed. Fast internal focusing with Tokina’s One-Touch focus clutch mechanism allows the lens to AF focus faster and switching between auto and manual focus is as easy as snapping the focus ring back and forth. 2 sharp-cut aspherical elements accurately correct aspherical aberration usually associated with ultra-wide angle lenses. Bright, constant f/4 aperture allows plenty of light to enter the camera for shooting in a wide variety of photographic situations. A chrome-plated brass mount plate and all-metal zoom unit can stand up to regular use, while an advanced polycarbonate outer lens barrel reduces the weight of the lens, making it a pleasure to carry. Dimensions – 3.3 x 3.5 (84×89.5mm) Weight – 20.1 ounces (570 grams)

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Solid Lens
I read all of the reviews concerning the wide angle choices for Nikon. And I think I made the right choice. Smooth & a solid lens.

4 Stars Good lens
Good lens. Build quality is excellent. A little bulkier and slightly less sharp and not AF-S compared to sigma 10-20mm (1 star reduction). Reasonably priced compared to Nikon 12-24mm. No case or pouch, but LowerPro 1W case will accommodate it nicely. Sigma’s barrel distortion is very complex, so you would not be able to correct it fully during post processing. Tokina distortion could be corrected.

Would recommend it for folks not owning D40,D60 (manual focusing would be a challenge at this angles). Sigma 10-20mm is also good lens.

5 Stars Tokina 12-24
Tack razor sharp where it counts even on the high res D300. Corners are a little soft at wide open, but not enough to even take notice unless you pixel peeping. Solid and robust build. Feels like I’m holding one of my $$$$ Nikkor pro lenses. Finally super wide on DX.

4 Stars Great third party lens!
I think this is great product for 3rd party lens. I used it for Nikon D300, and it works great. When I bought this lens, the 116 was not released yet, but even for now, I think I still buy this instead. Because this one can use for FX camera, and it has better range. This is great for travel, but you do need the 24-70 with you when you travel, because sometime you are just too far from the object, and 70-200 is too heavy for travel.

5 Stars Everything I was looking for
I had done research on the DX wide angle lenses and this one was rated extremely well. So I coughed up the cash. As always, purchasing through Amazon is fast and easy and I got a good price. The lens is exactly what I hoped it would be. I’ve taken a bunch of great shots with it already.

Sigma 10 20mm f 4 5 6 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras

Sigma 10 20mm f 4 5 6 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras

10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens allows enjoyment of super wide-angle photography and it is a very powerful tool for indoor shooting and landscape photography with digital SLR cameras. Wide angle of view (102.4 degrees at 10mm and 63.8 degrees at 20mm) offers the photographer greater freedom of expression. 3 Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements are employed for effective compensation of color aberration, which is a common problem with super-wide angle lenses. One piece of glass mold and two hybrid aspherical lenses, offer excellent correction for distortion, as well as all types of aberration. This lens is equipped with an inner focusing system, and the models which are equipped with HSM system provide quiet, high speed autofocus shooting and also offer full time manual focusing. It has a minimum focusing distance of 24cm at all focal lengths. The non-rotating lens barrel perfectly suits the petal shaped lens hood. A circular polarizing filter can also be used conveniently. Angle of View – 102.4 – 63.8 degrees 6 Diaphragm Blades Minimum Aperture F22 Minimum Focusing Distance – 24cm/9.4 inches Maximum Magnification – 1 – 6.7 Filter Size – Diameter 77mm Lens Hood Petal Hood Dimensions – Diameter 83.5mm x Length 81mm, 3.3 x 3.2 inches Weight – 470 gram (16.6 ounces)

Canon EF 85mm f1 2L II USM Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras

September 20, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment

Canon EF 85mm f1 2L II USM Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras

The L-series is Canon’s flagship professional lens range, designed and built to meet the needs of the most demanding professional photographers. The superb optics of the EF 85mm f/1.2 II USM and other L-series lenses represent the pinnacle of optical performance, enabling focal length/speed/quality combinations not readily attainable using traditional optical technologies. In addition to optimised lens shaping to reduce reflections and the use of anti-reflective material inside the lens barrel, the EF 85mm f/1.2 II USM employs Canon’s patented Super Spectra lens element coatings. These suppress flare and ghosting – more prone to occur with digital cameras due to reflection off the image sensor. By increasing light absorption, coatings reduce reflections off lens element surfaces to deliver crisp, undistorted images with natural color balance.
