Canon PowerShot SD1000 7 1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Black

Chic, simple. Canon looked to the very first ELPH for inspiration when designing the PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat. Inside, the SD1000 Digital ELPH looks only to the future: 7.1 Megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and advanced DIGIC III ensure top-quality images, while focus is fast and sharp and red-eye is automatically corrected. The large and more colorful LCD screen now has a tough, anti-reflective coating that makes it as durable as it is beautiful. 3 Stars Great performance with ReadyBoost, but the drive light leaves much to be desired
This is my first SanDisk drive after buying only Lexar for the longest time, but I couldn’t seem to find a good cheap Lexar drive after I bought a new Vista laptop to try out ReadyBoost with. This one happened to be nice and cheap, so I bought it and overall I’ve found it to work well with the feature and as a flash drive.
However, the two star demerit is for the bright orange activity light within the retractable case that just won’t stop shining. Yes, it’s there for activity and it’s reassuring that it’s on. But does it have to be so bright and large in the latch? It’s 1″x2″ of light that’s distracting on the side of a laptop, especially at night when you’re in your room and ready to fall asleep.
Thank goodness for electrical tape to minimize how the light shines. In the next version of this, SanDisk must move to a small LED to indicated activity, because as it is, the light is too bright and annoying to recommend this drive.
4 Stars I’m Pleased
I am happy with my purchase. This is the first drive I have owned or used with the u3. I don’t have a problem with it. It isn’t a must have for me yet but right now I like it. If I decide I don’t want it on the drive later then I can uninstall it. 8gb for this price can’t be beat. I would recomend this product to others.
5 Stars First Rate design
I purchased this because i’m a DJ and I’m always moving files from computer to computer………this product provides a fast and efficient way to do that…….i couldn’t be more happy.
5 Stars Great for the price
i, like any other intelligent person, do not use vista. i have no use for the U3 crap either, so ran the uninstall on the drive, and moved the 2 files left over to restore its U3 capabilities to a folder somewhere on my computer in case i did find a use for it later. Reformatted the drive so the application partition was gone, it all worked. i attribute the other problems people have been having to an inferior operating system, seeing as how these all worked for me. great drive, great price, works with ps3 in case anyone was interested. no pop-ups (just XP’s ‘new hardware found’ in the tray, unnavoidable/not intrusive) and no software installations (thank god). just plug and use. easy.
5 Stars Plenty of room for all my backup needs
I really like this 8GB Flash Drive because it has room to back up all the necessary data from my computer and my husband’s computer as well. (I removed the software that came on the drive.) I have 2 8GB flash drives. One stays at home and one in the bank box. I trade them out every month or so. That way we would have some sort of backup in case of a fire.

5 Stars Nice.
This product is just as described, and quite nice. It’s a great price for it’s size; portable and no need for an A/C adapter, just a usb plug. The plug and play factor and weight is the largest plus of this, in my opinion. The only downsides I’ve come across by far is the finger-print-stained cover; it’s best to keep a plastic cover or something over it, to keep it clear and finger print free. And, I didn’t quite expect the WD program to be inside; it’s somewhat troublesome for me, but it’s not bad. I’m just more or so used to the drag-and-drop style of things and my own organization format. Overall, great price, great product, great buy.
5 Stars Very impressive Drive!
Quick summery, Works as advertised, easy to format to ntfs usable drive space on 500 is 465 the same as the previous My Book, it needs no external (additional power). The heat generated is not really noticeable at all.
potential negative: little white flashing light, there is no more disc noise than an IPOD. The only warning I would give is the lack of a case, it really needs protection and should (in my opinion) only be transported or even stored in a case. However this can’t be held against the drive as far as its performance.
A little more commentary on reliability, and Price value.
I have purchased half a dozen passport drives in the last 90 days all but one are 320. So as a measure of reliability all of these drives have so far worked very well. They have not become louder or slower they are like they were in the beginning. I use some as dedicated backups and some for consolidation and centralization. As far as durability I have taken one with me on a few trips the first one I acquired. It functions without any noticeable difference as well.
Commentary about Price difference to follow.
No drive is 100% reliable few are in the high 90’s for that long. This is of course my opinion, but when compared to the prior My Book 500 GB models of which a few each with power supplies etc. It is so great to not have to deal with big heavy drives with power supplies. When comparing that difference I believe this is certainly worth the price.
A final word on the drive. Not in recent memory have I seen the price for something like the passport drives be so different (in percent) due to color. If there is any difference in any of the WD passport models in color or stainless steel etc please let me know. If it is just aesthetics then as far as I am concerned who cares. Buy the color of your choice but if you are choosing based on price make sure to be aware that color or metal instead of plastic can make a huge difference. In the case of the 320 and 250 passport there seemed to be not just a very big price difference, often 15-35 percent, and this price would change based upon new models etc.
5 Stars Perfect – Simplicity, light, and HUGE Capacity
This USB drive is exactly what I was looking for, large capacity (500 GB), feels durable, compact and light, and simple to use on my Dell or Mac. Requires no electric power, and is so compact that it doesn’t feel like I have anything else in my brief bag.
I bought in combination with the rubber skin (Premium Silicone Sleeve Case for Western Digital WD Passport Essential Elements Portable 2.5″ Hard Drive – (Hard Drive NOT included!!)) – which added no “bulk” – only protection.
All of my work colleagues loved the combination….

4 Stars My Husband Loves His Garmin
I purchased this GPS system for my husband’s birthday and he loves it. He would, however, like for the unit to be voice-activated even though our kids love the English accent.
We would recommend this unit to anyone interested in purchasing a GPS system.
5 Stars Works great right out of the box!
I did a great deal of research before picking the nuvi770 as my first GPS. It had all the “must have” features I was looking for with a few added (but not TOO many!) I tried it out and there were a few glitches that obviously cannot be avoided. I live in a fast growing area of Houston and streets are being connected all of the time, growing longer, and “suddenly” appearing.
I read the negative reviews here and I think that most could be fixed by studying the downloadable manual. I studied the manual as part of the purchase process and it really, really helped.
I shopped in the local stores and NO ONE could touch the price from Amazon, I ordered on Monday and they promised the GPS with free regular shipping by Tuesday of the next week…it was here Thursday afternoon! WOW!
5 Stars What did I do before having this?
This is the true personal assistant, great for US and Europe use in car and on foot!
1 Star Great in US – terrible in Italy
I purchased this Garmin n?vi 770 GPS Navigator and Personal Travel Assistant a month before my trip to Europe and tried it in Ohio after going to the Garmin site and installing all the upgrades – it worked really well and seemed to be easy to use. However, when I went to Italy – it was close to useless! It took forever to start up, would get us within 300 – 600 feet of an address but often the wrong road! It led us to a highway “entry point” that had been closed for 7 years – but the final straw was when at 4am on a cold, rainy dark morning it led us onto a highway going the wrong way!! I would suggest that you not buy this particular model if going to Italy!
5 Stars Garmin 770 does the trick.
After just moving into a new area I figured it was best to buy a GPS unit for my wife since she is directionally challenged. After researching the different units and reading reviews we settled on the 770 and have found it to be extremely helpful and easy to use. My wife has no problems figuring out how to use it and keeps it with her all the time. I no longer get the phone call “I’m lost. How do I get home?” The only annoying feature is sometimes it takes an extremely long time acquiring satellites but once it connects, all is well.
